The StormDesigns Calendar
Since 2000 (the Y2k version) StormDesigns has created an annual calendar as a means of graphically expressing some of the most important dates for people and organizations at a glance.

The Year at a Glance
The basic premise is seeing the entire year at a quick glance. Including the Holidays, Seasons, Daylight Savings Time and allowing you to add your own dates. By checking off dates (think "sharpie") as you go through the year it makes a great "You are Here" reference.
While we know "everything is digital now" we believe there are alternate realities in print and other media that should be exploited in a world where most businesses communicate in digital first and neglect the non digital reality we still live within.
The Date List

A key to the functionality of the Calendar is the list of dates on the right side. This list, in date order contains a set of common or popular Holidays. We acknowledge that it can't contain every holiday everyone celebrates so there are extra lines where you can adlib your favorites.

One of the key of the StormDesigns calendar are the callouts within the calendar matrix. These ellipses (and other shapes) correspond to dates on the date list and make it easy and instant to see upcoming special dates.
Although for many the calendar needs little explanation (by design) we decided it may be a thoughtful decision to explain how it works in case any of it's innovative little twists are unclear. Our goal is to democratize design for everyone so if you have suggestions or ideas, please share them with us here.
